Green Photonics and German-Israeli Diplomatic Relations
TU Berlin and Technion–Israel Institute of Technology announce a joint two-day symposium at TU Berlin on March 30th and 31st, 2015. Focusing on key technologies of the 21st century based on the advanced use of photons, this is a contribution to the UN Year of Light 2015.
Energy harvesting based on latest achievements in photovoltaics, energy efficient data communication and computing together with similar urgent topics addressing challenges of our future green society will be discussed by leading researchers and developers from industrial and government laboratories worldwide.
On the morning of March 30th, 50 years of diplomatic relations between Israel and the Federal Republic of Germany will be honored by key government members of both countries. At the same time 100 years of closest ties between Technion and TUB (the former TH Charlottenburg) will be remembered and praised.
The symposium will finally present an outlook on the efforts of both leading technical universities on jointly developing novel technologies and applications serving society in the 21st century. Cooperation of young researchers will be fostered and financially supported in the frame of the network.
