Prof. Moussa Youdim of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine and Director of Eve Topf and U.S. National Parkinson Foundation Centers of Excellence for Neurodegenerative Diseases has been made a Fellow of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Founded in 1652, it is the oldest academy in the world for natural sciences and medicine.
Prof. Yitzhak Apeloig of the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as a Foreign Honorary Member. Apeloig, who served as president of Technion between 2001 and 2009, thus joins one of the world’s most prestigious honorary societies, now celebrating its 230th anniversary.
